Aurora movie theater shooting day 43: Defense expected to call more doctors who treated James Holmes
Day 43 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, the defense is expected to call more doctors who treated the gunman after the shooting. During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. His defense attorneys will try to spare Holmes’ life by arguing that he was insane. 7NEWS and TheDenverChannel.com will have gavel to gavel coverage of the trial starting at 8:15 a.m. (MST) everyday and ending around 5:30 p.m. (MST) Watch new live video on our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/7NewsDenver/live Additional resources:LIVE VIDEO & BLOG: http://bit.ly/theatertrialTIMELINE of the case: http://bit.ly/theatertimelineJURY PROFILE: http://bit.ly/theaterjury CONTINUING COVERAGE: http://bit.ly/theatercoverage
Anyone out there against more killing, esp. of a severely mentally ill person? Where are those pro-lifers? From conception to -----? Oh, unless not the kind of hereditary that might kill.
They need to get past this and make a case that having schizophrenia causes one not to know right from wrong. I don't see how they are going to do that.
Are all of these studies being brought up in order o show that JH could not be faking any of his symptoms? That is the only reason I can see for getting into all of these in such detail.
So, let me get this straight. I'm an engineer and have been through my share of textbooks. At the end of say, my Thermodynamics textbook, there is a list of references where the author sites where he/she got some of his/her information, say Heat Transfer. There are usually a few hundred references. Is the DT's argument that since I had the textbook, I should be completely familiar with the other hundred textbooks listed in the references? You know, because I had access to their names and all???
Wasn't there an aunt with mental illness? There is a genetic predisposition to schizophrenia, but it still tells us very little as to "sanity" on or around the day of the shooting.
Hmm. I had gestational diabetes, my mother had to be born via C-Section due to being 'stuck'...none of us, or they in particular, have any sort of brain/psychological problems. And millions of others.
But I have not heard them say they are going to show slides that were done on JH brain. IMO those are the only ones that matter. DO they have a MRI from before the shooting? And there again why did the DT wait so long to have a MRI done?
All babies heads are "flattened" (soft) in order to get thru the birth canal. Maybe his head was flattened by the prongs but it was ruled irrelevant so whatever.
King!?!?! Did you stare at a sparkler for too long this weekend? How in the world can you say that Dr. Reid's 22 hours of video taped psych interview not contribute to his final diagnosis? YOU, Sir are CrAzY!
Anica, for your legal begal : In the case of a jury trial like this, where the defense wants to show slides that will not be admitted as evidence but shown to the jury for demonstrative value. Is that not confusing to the jury?

Wow...Dr. Gur is that upset about the debate? Huh. Well, she didn't have a Juris Doctor in her CV, so I'm sure she doesn't know that this is par for the course...
Anica-will someone type on scribble the jury instructions or at least a list in resources. sounds like they they will have lots of choices as to each charge. i'm wondering if we can follow along when a verdict is reached?
