Aurora movie theater shooting day 43: Defense expected to call more doctors who treated James Holmes
Day 43 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, the defense is expected to call more doctors who treated the gunman after the shooting. During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. A juror has an inquiry about a private issue. She will be asked if she is comfortable discussing it in open court. -
Juror 535 says she has issues with her back and today is worse than other days. "I have hardware in my back and a spinal implant," she said. She sounds emotional but says she is willing to proceed.

Defense calls their final witness - Dr. Raquel Gur. Dr. Gur is a paid consultant and an expert on schizophrenia. She is expected to testify that the gunman was insane at the time of the shooting. - New Witness

I used to watch a lot of Court TV, so I've seen a lot of judges. I have to say this one's compassion and professionalism impress me.

It's amazing to me how quiet the jury is when they come into court... all those people and not usually one sound of any kind coming from them or their direction... -
Dr. Gur is a doctor of medicine with a PhD in psychology.

The jury does seem to file in quietly, but I think it is mostly because they don't have microphones on that side of the courtroom. Plus they don't carry a lot of bags, keys, notebooks or extra paraphernalia with them.
