Prosecution to finish cross-examination of schizophrenia expert Dr. Raquel Gur on day 46 of the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. His defense attorneys will try to spare Holmes’ life by arguing that he was insane. 7NEWS and TheDenverChannel.com will have gavel to gavel coverage of the trial starting at 8:15 a.m. (MST) everyday and ending around 5:30 p.m. (MST) Watch new live video on our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/7NewsDenver/live Additional resources:LIVE VIDEO & BLOG: http://bit.ly/theatertrialTIMELINE of the case: http://bit.ly/theatertimelineJURY PROFILE: http://bit.ly/theaterjury CONTINUING COVERAGE: http://bit.ly/theatercoverage

GB still hasn't asked her how much she is getting paid that I've heard. Did I miss it?
by Ann7/9/2015 8:11:54 PM
@PA.... I really learned a lot about mental illness and schizophrenia from this doctor. I just really think she makes a poor sanity/insanity witness. She needs the gong and the crook pulling her off stage. lol
by DocJ7/9/2015 8:11:56 PM
If Dr. Gur would just listen and answer the questions as asked, things would go much more smoothly....imo
by Liz7/9/2015 8:12:02 PM
@PA I think that will all depend on how the trail out comes turns out if she will be hired again!
by LG7/9/2015 8:12:04 PM
Ormans sitting back like "you will lose Dr!!"
by Kristle7/9/2015 8:12:08 PM
Woahhh...Similar? Oh my.
by Angela Freeman7/9/2015 8:12:09 PM
She's never going to get out of there on time if she keeps taking such a long pause before answering questions.
by FMM7/9/2015 8:12:20 PM
Ooops, I put my comment in the wrong place...
by I would take Brauchler as...7/9/2015 8:12:26 PM
She keeps tripping herself up! lol
by Brandi7/9/2015 8:12:28 PM
@fmm- I hope so!
by Brandi7/9/2015 8:12:30 PM
shuffle, mine is fine.
by Tammy Garrison7/9/2015 8:12:33 PM
@FMM - I think so, yes.
by Angela Freeman7/9/2015 8:12:34 PM
I'm enjoying the civilized chat too. It's a huge relief. We needed to have the privilege taken away.
by Kristle7/9/2015 8:12:36 PM
@Kristle we got our well-deserved time-out.
by MyraJ7/9/2015 8:15:20 PM
Hehe, we got a time out. =P But agreed - much needed.

@Kristie... I agree but also may think that some of the ones that were a mess are no longer here since it was taken away!!
by LG7/9/2015 8:16:12 PM
How on earth can she think she giving good credible testimony right now....
by TammyC7/9/2015 8:16:20 PM
Objection You sank another Battleship! King pulls out the destroyers.......

During my years of earning a master's degree in counseling (not a PhD), the topic of how to best "memorialize" a client's session was left up to individual therapists. Notetaking is not intended to be a word by word, question/answer recording. One purpose of notes is to help formulate an appropriate treatment plan using the impressions of a highly educated and experienced mental health counselor. In this trial, we certainly benefitted in seeing Dr. Reid's videotaped interview early in the case. It seems that these tapes have become the standard by which we compare/measure all others. Actually, videotaping is rarely done. This does not excuse Gur for not writing a more thorough report, however.

Also, everybody needs to know that a lot of comments are posted really really late. I've had comments posted out of order, so telling me to pay attention and read is YOU being rude to ME because I have read replies from Channel 7, my comment asking something is posted way AFTER their replies. I have no control over that.

Good JOB BRAUCHKER!!!
by Brandi7/9/2015 8:16:51 PM
She "can't infer..."? Really? She was o.k. with inferring his thoughts on other stuff. Sheesh!
by DocJ7/9/2015 8:16:53 PM
Legal question: Why was GB allow to use a "hypothetical" that exactly mirrored the facts of case? Judge over-ruled DT objection.
by trl27/9/2015 8:16:57 PM
she might have added some substance or validity; but her bias has ruined her testimony and she is now looking like a very much "PAID WITNESS" and silly.....NOT PREPARED
by A.L.7/9/2015 8:17:04 PM
thanks tammy,,,, guess the utility company stlll causing electric hiccups,, thought they were done lol
by shuffie7/9/2015 8:17:08 PM
She's pausing to think about her answer. Its a therapy they teach. answer in wise mind not emotional mind.

Sometimes Dr Gur makes me go "HUH??????"
by FMM7/9/2015 8:17:15 PM
@A.L. yes yes yes!
by Della (Me)7/9/2015 8:19:58 PM
@Megh - Agree. Also, that may be the standard for patients, but this was for something far more serious and should have been treated with an excess of caution, I feel.
by Angela Freeman7/9/2015 8:19:59 PM
would love to hear an interview of her regarding her testimony in this case and how GB pulverized her

by TammyC7/9/2015 8:20:03 PM
So did PT really ask to impeach her and I missed it, or was that just opinion on the chat?
by Tammy Garrison7/9/2015 8:20:05 PM
I mean, if ya need to fly out tonight, why not just answer the questions and magically remember what you need to?
by Kels7/9/2015 8:20:08 PM
I'm very surprised that she has made it a number of days without being labeled as a hostile witness. Brauchler called it perfectly...you had no problem inferring with Mr. King, but now you can't.
by Marsha Laurienti7/9/2015 8:20:13 PM
Trl2 - hypo's are sort of like analogies some things sound the same but they really bring out a different meaning

Lesson to mental health experts testifying in court: Videotape your interviews with the defendant! Who cares if it makes the person "uncomfortable", given the alternative is a train wreck like this!!!
by Alison7/9/2015 8:20:37 PM
We knew that a billion jury questions was going to be the case! Love it!
