Prosecution to finish cross-examination of schizophrenia expert Dr. Raquel Gur on day 46 of the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. @kate i would just have a few conversations with him here and there. He would only speak if spoken too. He seemed shy most of the time and I just tried to make him feel comfortable in class.

If someone is on the front line of an area of research that has been borne out of clinical practice there is often some redundancy in papers to help make a foundation of similarity or reconsiderations. Also, a major weakness in academia is publish or perish---it is an oddity.

@Just Thinkin, this is what I found in regard to a speaking objection: "A speaking objection is an objection where the lawyer speaks a complete thought in an effort to either a) provide additional information to the jury that they should not have b) aggravate opposing counsel c) give additional information to the judge that they want the judge to know or d) all of the above"

@Mike, thank you for planning to visit him. Though I don't know him/never met him, I believe that he really is sick, and not at all "bad" or anything like that. I believe he is delusional, and compelled by his delusions to do what he did. I hope you both take some comfort in seeing each other again and looking back on the good times. @okx I agree that it is a sad and difficult state of affairs to have to both publish and do research. It reminds me of the torture resident docs have to go through - being on call for 24-48 hours with little or no sleep. Ye, if they don't publish, what is the purpose of doing research? Occam's Razor.

Board Certification is irrelevant...its a professional membership that has no real bearing on a person's ability to practice. Physicians become board certified, in part, because people that don't know what it means think it is important.
