MANY thanks to Anica and the entire D7 Team for your consistent, straight journalism during this entire process. As family of a Victim who testified during the trial, this has been an excellent window into the system - far enough removed to keep my sanity, but close enough to keep me well informed.

@Me- imho you are in error. I see both sides represented -obviously not to the degree that either seems completely satisfied with. I think heated responses directed to one person or another have much to do the style in which ideas are presented.

Hill, not just the child but the entire thing he did.

On replay, I just caught Brady's statement during Orman's argument: "Your honor, I object to "the truth"" Wow--was that a Freudian moment, or what?!
by flip7/23/2015 6:25:26 PM
I feel sorry for anyone who suffers from any disease, physical, mental, or emotional. However, I refuse to consider JH as a victim in the same breath with those he terrorized, maimed or killed. There were some choices he made-- to lie to the people he sought out for help, to stop his medication, to make sure to not only arm himself but also to protect himself with extensive body armor, so is he mentally ill, probably, but is he a victim in the same sense as those he brutalized? No.
by Suzi7/23/2015 6:25:50 PM
Any one else wondering if Orman is re-thinking his argument about now?
by Just Thinkin7/23/2015 6:25:53 PM
I'm 57, live in Denver and have been addicted to watching trials since the OJ trail.

I object to the truth! LOL!
by Marsha Laurienti7/23/2015 6:27:25 PM
Wait, did someone here just call JH a victim?
Unbelievable.
by Mark7/23/2015 6:27:41 PM
Oooh, Resa, I'm sorry. But Nevada was awful on the very same vacation and where the rudest people were. I was born in Las Vegas, but it wasn't a pleasant place when we were there.

Not going to answer people directly just defend my beliefs. I don't believe that God wanted any of this to happen but allowed it to happen for a reason that none of us will ever understand. Believe me, I have questioned this in my own life with my son who was born with a disability that was completely unknown to us until his birth. I have also been grieving a death of a very young friend this week but I still stand with my faith that God called him home, it was his time. As far as when people break the law and murder yes they should be held accountable through a trial and face the consequences, even if that means execution....again, my beliefs are that God already knows what's going to happen way before it even happens. I'm off my Biblical soap box and defending myself now....let's carry on.

by Kels7/23/2015 6:32:29 PM
@Stephany - Google the beautiful poem called The Master Weaver's Plan. I believe that is what you are trying to say. I believe that it will bring you peace
by Just Thinkin7/23/2015 6:32:53 PM
Poor fascinated is going to miss it.
by Tammy Garrison7/23/2015 6:42:20 PM
@anon I agree free will is an illusion, our brain wires and past experiences cause our current action, not us. Does that make JH a victim? Maybe.
by polisalwaysright7/23/2015 6:42:37 PM
always censor or ignore the truth...
by anon7/23/2015 6:42:40 PM
So 20 minutes will put the announcement at 12:45 Mountain time?
by vt7/23/2015 6:42:55 PM
Thank you Just Thinkin, that poem is beautiful and exactly my beliefs.

by Mo7/23/2015 6:43:21 PM
Could Newsweek have gotten the name of the foreperson from the Guilty in the First Degree signed form which would have had the foreman's name on it... unless it was blacked out.
by Cindy L7/23/2015 6:43:27 PM
@Loz Right?!?!
by Just Thinkin7/23/2015 6:44:03 PM
anyone know why the age of 12 was picked for that statute
by JG7/23/2015 6:44:04 PM
Anica or Phil - do either of you believe the documents, photos, and/or videos, specifically of the crime scene inside the theater, will ever be released to the public after the trial is over?
by Sarah7/23/2015 6:47:55 PM
Great question, JG.
by Tammy Garrison7/23/2015 6:48:22 PM
@JG, that'd be a good question for Phil to ask.
by Kels7/23/2015 6:48:24 PM
@Stephany You're welcome. Those words came to me via a card at a time when I needed them the most
by Just Thinkin7/23/2015 6:48:32 PM
polisalwaysright, I believe you and anon are an allusion.
by Tammy Garrison7/23/2015 6:48:34 PM
jg that's when they aren't really children in the eyes of the courts anymore. i'm not sure what the legal terminology is though.
by blue7/23/2015 6:48:37 PM
Under the age of 12 a child still where once one hits the age of 13 they are a teenager I think @JG someone correct me if I'm wrong :)
