Aurora movie theater shooting trial day 19: Prosecution expected to call experts and victims
Day 19 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, prosecutors are expected to call experts and victims to the stand. During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colo., movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. His defense attorneys will try to spare Holmes’ life by arguing that he was insane. 7NEWS and TheDenverChannel.com will have gavel to gavel coverage of the trial starting at 8:15 a.m. (MST) everyday and ending around 5:30 p.m. (MST) Watch new live video on our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/7NewsDenver/live Additional resources:LIVE VIDEO & BLOG: http://bit.ly/theatertrialTIMELINE of the case: http://bit.ly/theatertimelineJURY PROFILE: http://bit.ly/theaterjury CONTINUING COVERAGE: http://bit.ly/theatercoverage
@NT8 Looks Like Higgs is throwing spaghetti to the wall in objections trying to get the dating website blocked. Didn't work tho.

i wonder if this is some sort of social experiment of a psychopath
by Bill Ward5/27/2015 8:27:41 PM
@niki c Welcome! We are SO much more civilized! I've only watched the youtube feed when I'm not able to get the feed to cooperate here.
by Penguins2195/27/2015 8:27:44 PM
@Tammy, That went way over my head also! I'm still hunting that plane......
by NT85/27/2015 8:27:53 PM
@Nikki welcome! You will find nice, considerate and well thought out comments and questions here.
by Abrandt5/27/2015 8:27:56 PM
@Suzanne, I think Higgs had to object, but I think she was unclear and kept having to re-approach and that probably back-fired on them because it made something they didn't want in, even more noticeable
by Niki C5/27/2015 8:28:13 PM
Welcome Niki! The youtube chat is crazy....glad you're here!
by Liz5/27/2015 8:28:19 PM
Higgs is almost as annoying as Spengler.
by Insider5/27/2015 8:28:20 PM

by Niki C5/27/2015 8:31:55 PM
Thanks for the Welcome!!!
I am a "Wannabe" Prosecutor...can't resist watching this trial...I am not too sure about this defense team...any thoughts?
by Robin 5/27/2015 8:32:00 PM
the only problem i have with the videos as a viewer is the sound is usually distorted and it's hard to hear. that's a lot of garbled mess to listen to!
by sydnijmm5/27/2015 8:32:03 PM
Thanks all! Very nice welcome!
by Julie5/27/2015 8:32:05 PM
@robin Welcome... newbies and lurkers coming out of the walls today. Nice :-) Were you all trying to feel us out before you made a peep? ;-)
@Anica We wuv you! We missed you while you were busy working elsewhere at the station, but after one rough day, we warmed up to phil. I'm proud of us, in three weeks we've only had one bad day in scribble chat!
Hi everyone, long time lurker. Decided to join in. I have been reading comments also since day one and you all have such great insight and comments. Just wondering has anyone else notice what is going on in the gallery? I notice king whispering to the sheriffs and sheriffs looking more alert.
by Mama25/27/2015 8:33:09 PM
@NT8....hahaha! Ya, I hear you!
by Tammy5/27/2015 8:33:14 PM
@penguins and i don't think we'll ever forget that day! mad props to phil that day for telling it like it was!
by sydnijmm5/27/2015 8:33:18 PM
In the MH field so trying to stay objective
by Julie5/27/2015 8:33:42 PM
@mama2 Welcome to you too! It's a giant party in here this afternoon! yay :-)
by Penguins2195/27/2015 8:34:26 PM
The 'Will you visit me in prison?' question has no bearing on what his level of sanity was. He might have thought he needed to do what he did (due to his illness) despite knowing that he might end up in prison.
by AntiquatedEyes5/27/2015 8:34:28 PM
@Robin...the jury is still out (pun intended :) re: the defense team. I don't think we've seen enough of their offense to know how good they are, but we are certainly getting close.
by Niki C5/27/2015 8:35:24 PM
I had been streaming the trial on another site...but found that I enjoyed the conversations on this site...and the News 7 input during breaks...
by Robin 5/27/2015 8:35:29 PM
"Research mental health laws" most damaging to DT thus far in my opinion
by Julie5/27/2015 8:35:31 PM
I am very Happy to get some New blood into the Gallery! Welcome to all! Just ignore me for the most part. Dry Humor can be rough for some to deal with.
by NT85/27/2015 8:35:32 PM
I sure hope the audio will be a lot better than some of the previous exhibits, e.g. the initial police interview.
by klincos5/27/2015 8:35:33 PM
@Robin: We're glad to have you! Thanks for the kind words
by Phil Tenser5/27/2015 8:35:51 PM
@Julie, I think we're all trying to stay as objective as possible but there are days when it's not that easy.
by Liz5/27/2015 8:35:54 PM
No one is as annoying as Orman, that's for sure!
by AntiquatedEyes5/27/2015 8:35:56 PM
@penguins thanks feels great to finally stop being just just a lurker lol
by Mama25/27/2015 8:35:58 PM
Love The "Dry Humor NT8!!!
by Robin 5/27/2015 8:36:22 PM
Do we have time in this break to do a rundown of where we're all from? I'm from Rochester, NY.
by Penguins2195/27/2015 8:36:34 PM
NT8 keeps this group interesting! :-)
by Liz5/27/2015 8:37:29 PM
LOL Penguins219...I'm from Rochester, NH!!!
by Robin 5/27/2015 8:37:31 PM
east texas, somewhere between the two tornadoes in the last couple weeks. lol.
by sydnijmm5/27/2015 8:37:32 PM
the research mental health note could have been as simple as could he do (whatever it was about) given his "MENTAL HEALTH" issues
by klincos5/27/2015 8:37:33 PM
Funny for the day: Mr. DocJ is home helping with the kitchen re-do & watching/listening to the trial w/me. He talks back (&even louder than me) at all the objections and shenanigans. He is so funny! know he knows why I am sofrustrated when he gets home. Ha!
by DocJ5/27/2015 8:38:01 PM
I'm love Orman, he just is a bit brash and blunt. There is a reason they let him question victims as rarely as possible.
by Insider5/27/2015 8:38:06 PM
@Penguins, I'm originally from Southern New Jersey, now living in Colorado.
by Liz5/27/2015 8:38:09 PM
Seems to have known right from wrong at time of crime, but clearly mentally ill now. First psychotic break in November 2012?
by Julie5/27/2015 8:38:14 PM
@Antiquated, isn't that part of the definition of culpability? knowing right from wrong and knowing you might end up in prison = wrong, right?
