Yesterday, Judge Samour said the prosecution expects to finish questioning their witnesses Friday (June 19.) The defense said they can not be ready to begin questioning their witnesses until next Thursday (June 25.)
@FMM: Generally about 8:45 a.m.
@Victoria: Possibly other doctors who treated the gunman, possibly a Hotmail expert, and the remaining survivors who have not testified. We are still waiting to hear from Ashley Moser.
@FMM: The defense team has to fly in many experts to testify - so travel plans have to be rearranged.
@TommyTalbot: It is my understanding that court will take a few days off until the defense is ready. They have to be ready by Thursday, June 25.
Judge discussing scheduling: If prosecution plans to rest Friday, which is a short day, the court could either take Friday off, return Monday, and take Tuesday and Wednesday off, or finish Friday and take Monday through Wednesday off.
Prosecution prefers to wraps Friday. Jurors will be told they "tentatively" have Monday through Wednesday off.
The fact that the defense needs more time doesn't (necessarily) mean they're unprepared. They scheduled travel plans for expert witnesses and victims who have to fly in, and those people can't necessarily change their plans at the last minute.
