Day 34 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, CU psychiatrist Dr. Feinstein will return to the stand. During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colo., movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. @LG even if they could have looked for gun purchases, the CBI background check would not have shown up as it is deleted after approval. The only way to know if JH had guns would have been to either ask or get a search warrant.

Jose Lopez returns to the witness stand. Lopez worked at the Gander Mountain store in Aurora in May 2012.

@LG: They do. However, Jose Lopez is not a particularly unusual name so maybe it didn't stand out to the juror.

The witnesses name is Jose Lopez. He also goes by Joe. So the juror probably knows him as Joe whereas the witness list probably listed Jose. It's probably as simple as that.

@okx--Fenton was a good enough psychiatrist to bring in another psychiatrist in a further attempt to help Holmes. You are speculating when you say JH "wanted help". It's not at all clear that he actually wanted help. It is just as likely that he wanted a future insanity defense. Mediocre credentials? Well...I'll leave that to you to evaluate. I looked at her CV at the CU website and it clearly shows that she is a trained clinical psychiatrist. I'm sure there are "better" ones and "worse" ones in practice. I personally doubt whether Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung themselves would have been able to stop James Holmes if he was truly bent on carrying out his secret plans. But, some people will always know better...that 20/20 hindsight thing, I guess.

These list of witnesses that the jury review should also be accompanied by a photo esp. a photo of them as they look on Facebook. That should eliminate more instances of the jurists knowing the witnesses.

to those of you who have had no experience with real courtroom proceedings, this is how it really works...delays, objections, legal issues, things that appear a waste of time or silly, there is a purpose behind all of it, this is nothing like tv trials. - paralegal for 25 years.

the better the defense is now, makes it harder on his appeals if he is found guilty and sent to death. So It's good if they do a good job.

Well, the receipt said 4-something p.m., so I am assuming it was after the appointment. We were not told what time of the day his appointments were at, but he seemed to get a lot of stuff done after 4 p.m. regarding all his purchases. They all seem to have a 4 p.m.-ish time stamp.
