Aurora movie theater shooting trial day 35: Survivor Ashley Moser to testify
Prosecutors have said they will call survivor Ashley Moser to testify on day 35 of the theater shooting trial - People vs. James Eagan Holmes. During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colo., movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. His defense attorneys will try to spare Holmes’ life by arguing that he was insane. 7NEWS and TheDenverChannel.com will have gavel to gavel coverage of the trial starting at 8:15 a.m. (MST) everyday and ending around 5:30 p.m. (MST) Watch new live video on our YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/7NewsDenver/live Additional resources:LIVE VIDEO & BLOG: http://bit.ly/theatertrialTIMELINE of the case: http://bit.ly/theatertimelineJURY PROFILE: http://bit.ly/theaterjury CONTINUING COVERAGE: http://bit.ly/theatercoverage
@Tired. Hillary is a classmate of JH. I don't think they had a relationship. I think he was with Gargi at that time.
by EZ6/19/2015 3:19:48 PM
@Bob I don't think her and JH were a item just students in the same program as JH at CU
by LG 6/19/2015 3:19:52 PM
He tried and she let him know she wasn't interested.
by Tammy Garrison6/19/2015 3:19:54 PM
@Tired. Sorry I typed it wrong, Mandi has the correct answer.
by EZ6/19/2015 3:20:29 PM
Thanks Tammy. Stupid brain :) I think I know that. I usually try to "circle" around words.... plate, spoon, pot = cup. It doesn't help that my spelling skills were not the best to start with, though. Ha!

the meds that have testified about are not the type or level of dosage that would 'snow'' him to blunt his ability to react as a 'normal' person might to emotional testimony. something like ativan to decrease agitation might be used to snow a person but he is not on a med in a class similar to ativan

Will Hillary's texts to JH be made public?
by Kristle6/19/2015 3:21:36 PM
If you watch the people in the Courtroom, everyone is fidgeting, except for JH. Even if I was told to be perfectly still, I could not. He's on drugs. Being locked up, I would think he does not have a choice about taking his SChizo meds. Also, he is a raving maniac.

How is she relevant?

According to CU News Corps the gunman avoided pursuing a romantic relationship with Allen because of the attack he was planning.
“I didn’t want her to be the girlfriend of a murderer,” he said.

It can get better, to the upper limit of brain damage. Most progress is made early. Progress tends to taper off over time. Exercises can keep language at ultimate level. In case of minimal brain damage, complete recovery can happen because the brain "rewires" both neurons and blood flow.

Can affect what you say, how you process what you hear, what you read, and your ability to write.
by Tammy Garrison6/19/2015 3:23:38 PM
@SMH Both. Mine has gotten better, but it is permanent. I have learned more 'tricks' in dealing with it though. I think it depends on the injury. I have had 3 strokes and have siezures, which is different from brain tumors or other violent injury such as gun shot wounds.
by DocJ6/19/2015 3:23:39 PM
you know what else is nuts, no one has cursed. I would have definitely cursed by accident.
by Morgan6/19/2015 3:23:40 PM
Thanks Mandi and EZ
by Tired6/19/2015 3:24:35 PM
@Kristie -- there are some Hotmail e-mails that haven't been admitted yet.. PT has to revise the exhibit. Not sure if some are to HIlliary or not
by mandi6/19/2015 3:24:37 PM
I agree Tammy G!
by CEM6/19/2015 3:24:40 PM
@Kristie I don't think channel 7 or anyone knows what will be made public until it becomes public...
by LG 6/19/2015 3:24:42 PM
AC is very well mannered and polite IMO.
by Kristle6/19/2015 3:24:43 PM
Thanks Tammy and Doc!
by SMH6/19/2015 3:28:46 PM
Ah ok @LG
by Kristle6/19/2015 3:28:50 PM
@mandi: thanx
by Kristle6/19/2015 3:28:51 PM
It depends on if any kind of damage, whether strokes, brain tumors, or injury affects the language centers of the brain, and which language centers are affected. Don't know why, but most strokes do occur in the language centers. Broca's area or Wernike's area.
by Tammy Garrison6/19/2015 3:28:53 PM
2 people have cursed. One guy in theater 8 got shot in the leg and said "what the f is this??!?!" and one cop driving someone to the hospital said "don't you f-ing die on me."
by FMM6/19/2015 3:28:54 PM
Show the TEXT!!!!
by Tired6/19/2015 3:28:56 PM
So I'm wondering what will happen after this goes to the jury. We keep checking every day to see if there is a verdict? Especially those of us not from Denver or Colorado.
by Tammy Garrison6/19/2015 3:28:58 PM
I wonder if she felt freaked out by the idea that she may have been interested in a mass murderer?
by DocJ6/19/2015 3:28:59 PM
Whoa, April 9, 2012, she received her first text from JH.
by Kristle6/19/2015 3:29:05 PM
@Kristi I agree about AC. He is a gentleman.
by Suzanne6/19/2015 3:29:06 PM
these are texts though, not hotmails.
by Tammy Garrison6/19/2015 3:29:07 PM
I don't know what the hotmails are about.
by Tammy Garrison6/19/2015 3:29:08 PM
Hillary Allen identifies records of texts she exchanged with the gunman.
by anica.padilla6/19/2015 3:29:46 PM
Hillary looking right at Holmes. Holmes looking away, can't make eye contact.
by flip6/19/2015 3:29:47 PM
Hillary Allen said she didn't know how the gunman got her phone number.
by anica.padilla6/19/2015 3:31:07 PM
Hillary stated she's still in the neuroscience program. How long is the program? She graduating next year perhaps?
by Kristle6/19/2015 3:31:08 PM
It's just another email server like yahoo and Google.
by jbs6/19/2015 3:31:09 PM
why is Brachler referred to as AC here?
by RAH6/19/2015 3:31:10 PM
@flip I noticed that too.
by Suzanne6/19/2015 3:31:12 PM
@Doc: She had a lot of "nice things" to say about him; sounds like she was smitten by his intelligence.
by Kristle6/19/2015 3:31:13 PM
In most states, i believe that a defendant must be deemed competent to stand trial. Since this is a sanity/insanity case, im guessing his competence AT TIME OF TRIAL has been declared as competent, meaning, he must be able to understand court proceedings and assist in his own defense. They would be not be able to bring someone into court daily who is dazed, confused, unable to comprehend due to whatever reason including on sedating meds to a point where he might be any or all of those things.
