I don't chime in much here, I know Dr. Gur is not doing a very good job, but I feel sorry for her as a person.
by caz7/8/2015 10:17:38 PM
Right JW? She has spent more time on the stand than she spent on interviewing the shooter and writing her report
by debitwo7/8/2015 10:17:40 PM
No witness has been able to make a case for whether or not JH was legally insane at the time of the killing. If anything the state has proven its case for sanity especially with this witness
by Trial Crazy7/8/2015 10:17:45 PM
The term Hostile Witness is almost always used incorrectly in this discussion. Just as an FYI, you can only label your own witness has hostile. This is done when as an example, the prosecution puts a witness on the stand that is unwilling to disclose the facts they have been brought to court for.
by Mark7/8/2015 10:17:57 PM
@tim I agree
by Tjq7/8/2015 10:17:58 PM
Wow, Gur started to become unglued!
by Suzanne7/8/2015 10:18:00 PM
Word, thank you! That makes sense.
by Kels7/8/2015 10:18:01 PM
Wow - she just about lost it there !
by Nadine7/8/2015 10:18:03 PM
She is totally flipping out'
by Tjq7/8/2015 10:18:06 PM
WOW The ego of this doctor does not show well for her..

If I were King, I'd be looking for a "king-sized" cocktail right now...LOL
by Ibby7/8/2015 10:18:14 PM
He would of had to take more than 1 Vicodin to space out like he did
by Tjq7/8/2015 10:18:18 PM
Bless you count +1

Dr Gur is getting very GRRRRRRR. lol
by FMM7/8/2015 10:18:28 PM
I feel as if there is a strong "Pro Prosecution" group of people in this forum who don't like it when people speak opinions that might contradict their belief that JH needs to be found guilty. I also find the recent personal attacks on Dr Gur (calling her a liar, a granny, a disgrace, etc) are cheap shots. The attacks on her report when none of you have read it is also unfair. If you stick to the evidence in the trial, there should be no need to resort to name calling or taking pot shots at a report that none of us have read. If any of you have read the report, please correct me. I can see why some people would leave this forum or need to take a break from it.
by Alison7/8/2015 10:18:51 PM
I just wonder how would she know something was not organized..... Look at her organization
by Jewel7/8/2015 10:18:59 PM
This literature professor appreciates his grammatical perfection.
by litprof7/8/2015 10:19:03 PM
She equates asking oneself of very high IQ certain philosophical questions with insanity ??
by Dave Campbell7/8/2015 10:19:12 PM
@Ibby, doesn't happen very often though does it, practically costs as much to prosecute. And you would really have to prove it.
by Resa7/8/2015 10:19:17 PM
When she agreed to take on this case, and it was her decision, then she in turn had a duty to do her best work. It was her very first report that got us all to this trial. It was then that the DT had a doctor that said he was insane. So for her to not have done the most detailed report at that time shows incompantancy. If she did not have the time to devote to this, she should not have taken the job. That goes for any person involved in this case.
by mom7/8/2015 10:19:32 PM
Some are expressing sympathy for Dr. Gur - I'm not, she has an agenda - she is against the death penalty.
by Dave Campbell7/8/2015 10:19:36 PM
@Alison ...Gur can't even read her own report! c'mon LOL
by Grace7/8/2015 10:21:42 PM
No t to be disrespectful especially to all of the politically correct but if I were on the jury I would find Dr. Gur innocent by reason of insanity.
by JW7/8/2015 10:21:55 PM
Dave C. Dr. Gur has said she is not opposed to the death penalty.
by okx7/8/2015 10:21:58 PM
We really need a thumbs down button in here. That would end a lot of this strife.
by NT87/8/2015 10:22:03 PM
@caz I can't feel sorry for her as she agreed to be paid by the defense attorney, thought she was an expert in her field and capable of testifying in a difficult DP case. She does not have the legal background to testify. Someone in her legal department or the DT should have overseen her work and review her reports as their lead witness.
by Just Thinkin7/8/2015 10:22:07 PM
JThinkin, I agree with you, at least in part. Experts are field workers, not necessarily into the court system. This can keep justice from being served. Where, I disagree, is that what is defined as "criminal" is not so if one is not mind conscious, but their diseased mind overrides that ability.
by okx7/8/2015 10:22:13 PM
@Kristle where did you hear that about the Vicodin and the police?
by LG7/8/2015 10:22:27 PM
I suggest that if you think this group is opinion swayed, maybe you should heed the poolls. polls.
by NT87/8/2015 10:22:31 PM
@Allison - have you been listening to the testimony??? They are telling us what is in or, more importantly, what is not in the report.
by SMH7/8/2015 10:22:41 PM
@ Resa....a guilty verdict, delivered by jury is just that.....beyond a reasonable doubt.
by Ibby7/8/2015 10:22:42 PM
Nobody is twisting arms to make one stay in the forum..
by Tjq7/8/2015 10:22:43 PM
Brauchler is arguing the planning laid out in the gunman's notebook show organized thinking.
by anica.padilla7/8/2015 10:23:43 PM
can feel the blood pressure rising in the blog room,,, please be respectful of others so moderator anica doesn't have to block you comments
by shuffie7/8/2015 10:24:26 PM
JH is "swiveling" more now than we have seen in previous hours...wonder if he is getting agitated by what he is hearing...
by Ed7/8/2015 10:24:34 PM
Ok, I finally gave up and looked up the word "opined" lol
by FMM7/8/2015 10:24:35 PM
Dr. Gur agrees the gunman mostly wrote within the lines and didn't use any made up words.
by anica.padilla7/8/2015 10:28:12 PM
Those that aren't into reasonable online debates/arguments need to "tap out" before the next round..LOL
by Ibby7/8/2015 10:28:26 PM
If you are for the DT, great. If you are for the PT, great. Post your thoughts and please stop trying to monitor each others comments. Have a nice day! : )
by Suzanne7/8/2015 10:28:36 PM
I hope Brauchler asks about the research gun laws and mental health in the notebook.
by Abrandt7/8/2015 10:28:39 PM
A philosophy is not a practice-----most academicians have philosophy degrees. Dr. Gur has M.D.s. It is true that many m.d.s hold to a philosophy within the Hippocratic oath, but not all.
by okx7/8/2015 10:28:46 PM
I think the judge should have sustained that. He's basically re-presenting the notebook.
