Day 2 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, prosecutors open their case calling witnesses _____? During the course of the trial, prosecutors will argue that Holmes, the admitted gunman, was sane when he went into the midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater and opened fire on the audience, killing 12 and wounding 70. oops "know it all". Her testimony gets on my nerves, I don't know if it is the accent, or the fact that she is playing dumb in this cross examination. That she pretends to have an issue following what Brachler's questions are asking of her, that is just weird to me.

often these programs have many reasons for rejecting students; including the number of students that are finishing up; the kinds of specialty faculty available for the time--some are on research sabbaticals, etc; sometimes applications are accepted when there is no place; sometimes they are looking for a student with a very specific interest. Universities usually just keep a steady app process in place whether they have an intent to bring any new students in. JH needed to be told this. Many grad applicants don;t know this. Like an advertised job when the place already knows it will be filled from within.

Dr. Gur said she reviewed about 100,000 pages of evidence. Brauchler seems shocked that she can't remember the exact reading list from a syllabus from one of the gunman's class.

She just has a hard time being questioned about her "expertise" and that no one should question what I say as I am an expert on these matters, this is the air she puts off, and this is why she gets angry when Brauchler questions her. This is also why she interrupts when being asked questions, because she is a know it all, right down to knowing what you are going to say, before you say it! Remember people, people who study this type of information, and it is their passion, have something going on themselves, this is why they study this area of brain/neurology/psychology/psychiatry, mostly to figure themselves out, just like JH did, going into neuroscience, to try to figure out how to "fix his brain"!

anica....Look @ youtube video of Dr. Resnick on Andrea Yates (search for...UNM department of psychiatry, Dr. Resnick). Opines that women jurors less likely to listen to mental health defenses and death penalty qualified jurors less likely as well. His discussion on insanity enlightening.

I do not believe that she has that bad of a temper. I believe she is handling herself quite well and being overall cooperative. While she does not answer in simple yes or no answers when she doesn't it is for a specific reason. Yesterday she even was apologizing for expanding and explaining because she did not want words/sentences taken out of context.

Is it plausible that a Dr. who has obtained a Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree, PhD and MD from American universities and who has written over 500 articles, does not understand the difference between first and third person quoting? I think not.

@Tim. I very much disagree with your generalization about people researching areas where they themselves have that problem or others close to them have it. My area of research was in the physiology of schizophrenia and drug addiction. I have neither of these nor do any of my relatives.

GB seems to be marching thru the documents in an analytical manner. Dr.Gur is giving a more global response- it's not just a matter of listening to the question or trying to avoid a direct response. She probably is doing her best, minds think differently. Still, her thinking/responses makes it hard to determine the value of her evaluation at this point. Trying to keep an open mind.

mistakes are made and those of her caliber (except politicans) write and edit their own work. Re: U. of IA he was rejected---CU did offer a minimal stipend and free tuition, but seemed to be his only choice. The two programs are significantly different between the schools. IA never revealed why they rejected him after a personal interview (I think, he had an interview).
