Of course discussion of the death penalty is appropriate here. The murder trial ended two weeks ago. This is now soley a death penalty trial.

Magic the Gathering has some violent roots and evolved from dungeons and dragons. Also, had significant exposure to violent video games. Did these "killing" games have an impact on his biology and how his schizophrenia manifested? Interesting question.

All of this' he was such a sweet child' is more common during sentencing when family pleads to the jury to spare his life. Mitigating factors are usually things like age when the crime was committed, no prior arrests, convictions etc. Unless the only mitigating factor they are trying to prove is mental illness and they're just taking the longest route to it.

Parents will ask for mercy if there's a sentencing phase, and victims will ask for death, more likely say he doesn't deserve to live after what he did.

Pearson says Bob Holmes' letters includes sports scores, people who were sick, getting cars repaired, knowing the defendant was going to Pueblo, going sailing. Arlene writes about book club, exercise, whats going on with neighbors, golfing, other things that happened after the crime. Arlene also wrote about hear learning about mental illness and attending NAMI
