@trl2 in Colorado it is the law that DP inmates are to be kept in isolation as some of you have described.

State law has no such requirement for other maximum security 'guests' of the state. Fact is, we don't know where he will be sent if he gets LWOP, but we know exactly what will happen if he is sent to Sterling, where there is a cell next to Nathan Dunlap hopefully with his name on it.

@Jennifer... since you have also worked in criminal justice....would you agree that most of the most violent perpetrators were physically or sexually abused as children? Part of their medical records that were available to me included a social and criminal history.

I really came into this trial with an open mind. I WANTED the DT to show me how the defendant was mentally ill, SHOW me how something went wrong in his life to make this awful choice and PROVE that he has so many issues in his life the was compelled to make such an awful decision. The DT has still yet to do ANY of that!

NONE of these people have not even known him as an adult. He obviously had a good childhood..but JH took a complete different path in his adult life. The Colorado State Penitentiary (CSP) is located just east of Canon City and is one of six facilities that comprise the East Canon Complex. CSP is a Level V facility that primarily houses close custody offenders. The facility has an operational housing capacity of approximately 750 offenders

Life wasn't going his way, so he threw a hissy fit and took it out on a group of movie goers. Innocent people who had no reason to be injured or killed. I think he knew what he was doing and should be sentenced as such.

@joey - simmer down! lol I've listened to nearly all of this trial, and I am openly pro-PT and pro-DP. Maybe I heard wrong? The PT didn't object to DT witnesses calling the act "horrific?" IMO, the more times the jury hears that statement, the better for the PT. I understand that they may not want it repeated that the massacre was out of character with the little boy they knew, although I believe this very intelligent jury can see that most of these folks didn't know him as an adult.

Cindy, I did answer the question yesterday. Bench conferences are part of the court record, and as such, are generally available subject to state law and local court procedures and fees. Also, subject to any court sealing and redactions for various privacy, safety and other issues.
