NOTE: THE "SCHEDULED" START TIME OF THIS CHAT IS SIMPLY A PLACEHOLDER. THERE IS NO INDICATION OF WHEN THE JURY WILL REACH A VERDICT, UNTIL THE COURT ANNOUNCES IT IS DONE. Jurors in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial will alert the court after they reach a verdict in each of the 165 counts in the trial of the People v. James Holmes. Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 70 others in a mass shooting inside an Aurora movie theater on July 20, 2012. He has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. by blue7/16/2015 8:05:46 PM
I so knew they would reach a verdict in less than 24 hours...Nicely Done Jury...no hung jury...:)
by Robin7/16/2015 8:05:47 PM
Will 7news be airing it on TV?
by Ann7/16/2015 8:05:48 PM
@Ann: getting TV cut-ins ready right now!
by Denver77/16/2015 8:05:57 PM
Just want to take a second and thank the Denver 7 team, their support of our little community here, and the friends I have made watching this trial. Whatever the verdict may be, this has been an experience I won't soon forget. Thank you guys.
by Mark7/16/2015 8:05:59 PM
Keeping my fingers crossed that this quick verdict means guilty!
by Liz7/16/2015 8:06:00 PM
hey that was quick. Don't think that they had much to talk about.
by Happy7/16/2015 8:06:01 PM
Wonder what is going through his parents heads at the moment
by JG7/16/2015 8:06:02 PM
I just hope that this will bring the victims, families and all the lives directly effected some peace!!
by LG7/16/2015 8:06:06 PM
I wonder if GB and the prosecution team is on their way? Do you think they are driving the speed limit? LOL
by Julie7/16/2015 8:06:19 PM
I asked before going into closings what a quick verdict would mean and someone who had been a paralegal said they attorney she worked for said a quick verdict was in favor of the prosecution.
by Tammy Garrison7/16/2015 8:06:21 PM
Casey Anthony's verdict was reached real fast too, and we all know hoe that turned out =/
by Della (Me)7/16/2015 8:06:22 PM
According to Brunell, Dave, Morgan (2009) (an article titled Factors affecting the length of time a jury deliberates), guilty vertices are returned faster than innocent verdicts
by Matt7/16/2015 8:06:23 PM
@7News will the verdict be available in the Daily Archive?
by JG7/16/2015 8:06:24 PM
You guys were great. Great comments and most of the time professional. Lets PRAY for the families!!!!!
by Jeffers047/16/2015 8:06:25 PM
I want to leave work early so i can go home and watch. Don't think management would understand though...

by Denver77/16/2015 8:10:52 PM
Poll ...8 to 16 hrs baby
by Dennie Carp7/16/2015 8:10:54 PM
Will Channel 7 cover the sentencing phase live too?
by Happy7/16/2015 8:10:55 PM
@Happy: Yes, if it gets there
by Denver77/16/2015 8:11:06 PM
Very emotional time for the victims and their families! Prayers for them!
by Mandy L7/16/2015 8:11:08 PM
Man, I hope King comes to court today in a banana yellow suit and clown shoes. I really really do...
by Loz7/16/2015 8:11:09 PM
@Loz I was thinking the exact same thing!!!!! I've watched every day I have to see it. I leave work at 4. I hope to make it home!
by Amy S7/16/2015 8:11:11 PM
Listening to the 911 call they played in court is so heartbreaking... shots over and over and over LOUD and such screams... that audio BROKE my heart!!
by LG7/16/2015 8:11:13 PM
Ugh Della thanks for bumming me out..lol
by Dennie Carp7/16/2015 8:11:14 PM
I'm glad the jurors reached an agreement.
by Amy7/16/2015 8:11:15 PM
OMG that's 6:15 my time..ugh!!!!!!!
by Dennie Carp7/16/2015 8:11:16 PM
By our math, the jury has deliberated for less than 13 hours
by Denver77/16/2015 8:11:29 PM
Think about it though. Think about how many forms had to be filled out and how long it had to have taken for everyone to 1) fill them out 2) learn how to fill them out. They probably reached a verdict yesterday and spent all of today filling out the forms!
by Loz7/16/2015 8:11:46 PM
How could they review all that evidence in less than 13hrs? Chances are they had reached their decision before they even started deliberating.
by amjinoh7/16/2015 8:18:51 PM
I'm assuming I'll be able to go home and watch replay as always, since I'll be on the interstate on my way home?
by Tammy Garrison7/16/2015 8:18:56 PM
Guys as much as we know that Casey Anthony was guilty. The evidence was not solid to convict her. This is totally different!!!
by Jeffers047/16/2015 8:18:57 PM
lol @ Loz I was thinking the same thing!
by Della (Me)7/16/2015 8:18:58 PM
Judge Saymour has been the best judge. A lot of respect from the jurors, seemingly.
by Amy7/16/2015 8:18:59 PM
@7News... Is it 4 or 4:15 I've heard two different things. Just want to make sure I get the TV on and don't miss it!
by Amy S7/16/2015 8:19:02 PM
@AmyS: court opens at 4. reading at 4:15
by Denver77/16/2015 8:19:11 PM
Did I hear at one point that it might take an hour to read the verdicts to all the charges?
by vt7/16/2015 8:19:20 PM
@vt: if not more
by Denver77/16/2015 8:19:27 PM
@Loz- I was thinking that too. Glad they reached a verdict.
by EZ7/16/2015 8:19:37 PM
@Della - so right! I thought about the Casey Anthony case too....
by amjinoh7/16/2015 8:19:38 PM
@Amy, I hope you make it in time! Don't drive too crazy
by Loz7/16/2015 8:19:39 PM
Comments are fast and furious! Anticipation has even the people in our office that didn't follow every day waiting.
by TLR7/16/2015 8:19:41 PM
Loz, wouldn't filling out not guilty forms take less time? Potentially it could have gone that way.
by Tammy Garrison7/16/2015 8:19:41 PM
just heard the news....so glad they were able to agree and reach a verdict...
