Theater shooting trial ay 62: Phase 3 continues with families of those killed

Day 62 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, prosecutors will call approximately nine more family members of the victims who were killed.

@Danielle--It's not completely clear that JH really wants to live, but it is very clear that he is afraid to die.

So we should see verdict deliberations tomorrow? I have a feeling those won't take long. Maybe a verdict by Friday?

I've watched pretty much all of the trial so far, but I don't think I would be able to handle watching these victim impact testimonies. I get chills every time I see photos of the victims.

I understand that a lot of people on here want to hear JH get up and speak.... however if any of you followed the Boston Bomber case several of the survivors and victims came out after he did and said they wish he wouldn't have as well as said they never wanted to hear from him again... In addition he spoke right before the Judge in that case sentenced him to death... I would say at this point it's more about them and their wishes then anyone else...imo~

If I was JH I would kill myself after listening to these poor victims today. The sheer reality of having a lady you put wheelchair sitting right in front of you talking about her little girl that YOU killed........We can only hope he does and saves tax payers even more money.....

The only reason he is not making a statement of allocution is because he can't or won't fake "I'm sorry." That's it. He doesn't have to tell the truth (no oath) and there is no cross ex. There is no downside except his smug arrogance and total lack of remorse will make the jury hate him more.

@Phil- I appreciate 7 news coverage... When I started the trial, I was firmly in one camp for what I wanted the verdict to be. Now, a few months later I have changed my mind and now want the verdict to be something else. I want to thank you and the team for your coverage, providing the feed, and commentary to help us understand these complex issues which has helped me think through them and confront my own bias
