Day 62 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, prosecutors will call approximately nine more family members of the victims who were killed.

Ms Neilsen wants the jury to deliberate as long as they do not discuss the case.

Just tuning in for today. I thought they had all these instructions hashed out before the victims/survivors testified. Is the defense once again trying to change things to go their way?

Certainty of justice could not be an outcome of this case. From Phase 1, it has been assumptions. Haven't you bloggers studied basic physics, you talk like your moral judgments rise above your understanding. It seems like the moral judgments being made are absolutely the same as those of the defendents. Sorry, but in years to come, this ain't gonna look so good. Might as well get it over, JH did get a trial, but with the loopholes of law, not a fair one. Greatest fear is not the killing, it is the mental illness that has been denied. Watch out, a gun is a great bully. Deliberation, why? We have watched this jury, they move as a block which was intended by the state law.

She puts everyone through this, then when the judge rewords things correctly, she says, "I prefer it's left as is."

Now Nelson is trying to appeal to make this easier /shorter for jury so they'll settle on DWOP & deliberate less. (???) Oh gimme a break. How bout they save time also, but all simply sign DP forms (?).

I have to miss live closing arguments tomorrow - so disappointed! Will have to watch on replay. Will be following the posts though to get the main points and the groups reactions. So glad to have this resource (@Phil & co) as well this group!

Nelson is thorough. Judge is respectful of her and listens to her "concerns". There have been a few times, he's liked her version/phrasing better and went with it. Maybe Nelson will be hired to be on Judge's staff. Saw her wipe tears away yesterday and today. She may be ready to jump ship after this trial. Surprised Brady didn't object or at least give the stink eye to Nelson's tears

Regarding Jodi Arias, if the movie is anywhere close to the truth, that guy really led her on! I would not have voted death penalty for her either. That's just my opinion!

If a jury can make a decision based on mercy in a vacuum... what have we been doing all along? We should've just asked them for a decision at the beginning (not a direct quote, but close, from the Judge)

Was it Nelson or Spengler who got shot down several times during trial for improperly trying to object to testimony after the fact? I thought it was Nelson, but not sure.
