Nelson has to object as much as she can for the appeals. I know she sounds like she needs to stop, but it is a method and she needs to do this as a public defender.

Nelson wants the verdict form to say: The death penalty is a terrible thing to inflict on nice young men like little Jimmy. We do NOT want you to choose death. The judge does not want you to choose death. No one wants you to choose death. If you insist on choosing the death penalty, then you MUST not only be unanimous, but you MUST all have been born on the same day and at the same time. In addition, you MUST agree to go to prison for life yourselves. And you MUST sit through 6 weeks of the little Jimmy show played 24 hours a day before the verdict can be rendered.

As I have said before, do you think these instructions will really influence the outcome. They will either say DP or LOWP. All this back and forth will not matter.

I don't think these arguments are solely for appeals. With respect to jury instructions, I think the DT believes each word really matters. They are trying desperately to get Samour to tell the jurors how to deliberate such that it favors LWOP.

Her job isn't to this insane extent. Judge S. (*which should stand for "saint" rather than Samour), is even annoyed with her weak attempts and time wasting. THAT'S saying something.
