Theater shooting trial day 38: Dr. Woodcock to return to the stand, jail video likely to be shown

Dr. Jonathan Woodcock, the defense's expert, is going to return to the stand for the remainder of his cross-examination Friday. James Holmes' attorneys are also likely to screen for the jury another jail video showing the gunman in November of 2012, around the time that they say his mental health condition became aggravated in the jail.

@lg remember they did a lot of cross during the pt's case, so they won't have to call those witnesses again. the pt kind of gave some of their time to them.

question: judge said if the jury come back with a verdict on the 14th, that's the end of the proceedings so they woudln't need the 17th off and then he said if they come back with a verdict on the 14th and they need a sentencing hearing.. trying to figure out the difference. i thought they needed one either way. if they come back with guilty on all counts, do they not need a sentencing hearing? i replayed that part and i still don't understand. i figured they would need one in any case. there he just said 'if it's necessary at all..'

If James is given not guilty by reason of insanity and he is committed to the funny farm... is there any legitimate chance he could be released by a Judge? Given that he had these murderous desires since age 8 or 10 or so I would not ever want him to be freed into the community. He has murdered 12 people and wounded 72+.
