Theater shooting trial day 38: Dr. Woodcock to return to the stand, jail video likely to be shown

Dr. Jonathan Woodcock, the defense's expert, is going to return to the stand for the remainder of his cross-examination Friday. James Holmes' attorneys are also likely to screen for the jury another jail video showing the gunman in November of 2012, around the time that they say his mental health condition became aggravated in the jail.

Item on the list included "efforts to avoid detection" Dr Woodcock agrees efforts before the event were extensive before the event, "but interestingly not after"

This would be less painful if Dr. Woodcock just answered in a simple "yes" or "no" and then allowed the defense to ask him appropriate questions to allow him to expand/give explanation on those issues.

I'm sure this has already been discussed but I find it very surprising that they still haven't taken away that smaller witness box. Unless they have another handicapped witness to testify...

I'm a HS teacher and I had 4 weeks to write and turn in my dissertation for my masters degree.. 204 pages. You're going to take the stand in a murder trial for someones life, you have 9 months, but you don't go through all the evidence presented to you? AND you don't think there's anything wrong with that. This guy is a legitimate psychiatrist?? WOW

Can the judge tell this "expert" witness that he needs to stick with yes and no answers? It really seems so inappropriate that this "expert" witness keeps expanding on his answers. THE SURVIVORS DEF weren't allowed that courtesy,,,just sayin'.....

B. is manipulative in a way, that limits honest answer. He drives to what he wants, right or wrong according to the witness.

Dr Woodcock just noted how he's been taught by Dr. Resnick and Brauchler seized on that --- Resnick wrote the checklist they're talking about and he's also the expert the prosecution hired to rebut Dr Woodcock

@CindyL - Woodcock is not doing any favors to defense by doing that because it makes it a little easier to tune himself out that way
