I think this forum often (not always) focuses on the wrong details and information. It is not about the lawyers it is about the evidence, testimony and credibility of witnesses that is most important! Let's not give the specific lawyers any more attention than necessary. :p
Brauchler doesn't sound angry at the witness, but at the defense for skewing the results or report, and it even sounds to me like the witness is kind of warming up to Brauchler because of what he was denied. Plus, Brauchler was able, again to get the one and only gir'friend/sexual encounter before the jury's ears.
@ LjM : I'd like to think that this chat is reflects what may be going on in the jurors' minds at any given time. For the most part, comments are quite apt, and may reflect what they're thinking.
IMHO...no shot JH gets the death penalty. First of all its Colorado, second he is mentally ill and insane and third this Brauchler is an egotistical nutjob.
Come on, everyone...let's all agree to disagree. Nevertheless, you cannot argue my next point. While at home, Mr. King wears clown shoes while eating fun-dip and watching M.A.S.H. re-runs. GB wears only suspenders and boxer shorts while smoking a cigar, watching himself drink coffee in a full length mirror.
It's not about whether the jury can stand Brauchler or not, it's about listening to and weighing the evidence in order to reach a verdict. If they're going to base their verdict on how they feel personally about Brauchler, then they shouldn't be on the jury in the first place. Brauchler, whether anyone likes his style or not, whether anyone agrees with him or not,is fighting for justice for the victims! This trial, at the end of the day, is about justice for the victims not a personality contest.
I have been watching the trial with an open mind, trying to play the role of a juror. I think the prosecution has done a great job of proving it's case; however, I have been a juror and know that things can change on a dime when all facts are revealed. I will tell you that Mr. Brauchler(spelling probably isn't correct) is making me angry because he is attacking doctors...it is different when you go after peoplae who are lying on the stand or who have something to gain from the outcome, but when he attacks professionals for giving their honest opinions, I feel he is turning the jury...like he has something to hide. You do not need to make the witness look foolish and incompetent when the witness is a highly trained professional...he can asked questions normally and with dignity and still get his point across. I have been in a jury room and I know what can happen. The Jury are peope and we all know that both the defense and prosecution play the jury game. It will sway some juror. He needs to stand on his case because the facts of the case are strong, but when he attacks witnesses for no reason, it is like he is afraid of something coming out...just my opinion.
I don't know why it bugs me, but when King is up the bench often one of the female attorneys bring him little notes, presumably to help in his argument.
to everyone saying that d7 is showing bias.. their job is to represent the community. and honestly, the defense hasn't had much worth replaying. good job, d7!! keep up the good work.
To be honest I haven't understood the point of these tests, and I feel like its hard for me to get to the bottom of that with King because a) he wonders is too much information and b) feeds the witness what he wants him/her to say.
I am finding it puzzling why there are more comments about if someone does or doesn't like Brauchler or King... or that someone is using my name... instead of what they are talking about on the case and what the witness's are saying or not saying?!?!?
Is it typical for the District Attorney to try a case? Usually the assistant DA's do, even in high profile cases. I live in Orlando where the Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman trials were aired, and I cannot recall the head DA being this involved.
A lesson I learned when I was little when my older brother picked on me. The more I fussed and whined, the more he kept going. So when a troll (who ever they are) says something, don't get into it. If you can't handle it you can always turn off comments and just watch. Have a nice day! : )
Everyone, let's not ruin this for ourselves. Please cool it with the Team GB vs. Team King stuff. It's not helping anyone. It's just a heated dialogue that LG eloquently put, does not belong here.
I also think it's appropriate to speculate about the prosecution's motivations for not taking the guilty plea and bringing this to trial. Brauchler hasn't been shy about his political aspirations.
