I drive by the courthouse everyday to and from work- Yes the parking lot is full! Barricades for media, media trucks regular parking in the front and secured parking in the back. Full Full Full. Also it is right next to the Broncos training fields. Not sure if open to public but good place to go during breaks

@Sophia Ms Nelson knows the law---she might be the star attorney of the trial. Super smart and aware.
by okx7/29/2015 6:39:15 PM
i dont believe any neighbor testimony tugged at the jurors heartstrings.
by FredP7/29/2015 6:39:20 PM
@Tired- they are via video screens.
by CSP7/29/2015 6:39:21 PM
Guess the Mom will testify after lunch. I feel sorry for her to have to do this. It has to be gut wrenching to get up there knowing what her child has done.
by kat7/29/2015 6:39:24 PM
So Mrs. Holmes after lunch, huh? Should be interesting.
by jward127/29/2015 6:39:25 PM
I think Edwards insulted Judge S. last night with his sort of "egoic" attitude. But Ms. Nelson really annoyed me...
by BluesB7/29/2015 6:39:29 PM
@Phil--whats for lunch today?
by Tired7/29/2015 6:39:31 PM
no they didnt the objected to the depos and lost. they made little objections and I wasnt only speaking of objection i was speaking about questions. the oppositions job is to impeach! impeach! and they did none of that!!
by Carolyn Pechilvr7/29/2015 6:39:33 PM
@Tired
During the duration of their sentence on death row, inmates are permitted visiting 2.5 hours per week in a non-contact visiting area. During "warrant week," the inmate may have increased visiting privileges.
That's taken from the Colorado Department of Corrections website www.doc.state.co.us
by Me7/29/2015 6:39:41 PM
@Phil are we on another break?
by LG7/29/2015 6:39:43 PM
What time will they reconvene after lunch?
by CSP7/29/2015 6:39:44 PM
@BluesB, I don't know if they're buying time. I think it's strategy...maybe...I'm probably wrong...
by Kels7/29/2015 6:39:54 PM
Im not alone on that....the Prosecution is holding the position that all this has little to do with anything because these people didnt know the man! The sister thy let slip through fingers...my question to her would have been cruel but to bad I want the death penalty...and it would have been you have heard that your brother had succumbed to a mental illness, did you know prior to July 12th 2012 that he had a mental illness? ok so hypothetically in your opinion if your brother had entered that theater guns raring to go but then spotted you in the front row do you think you may be have been shot in his mission?
by Carolyn Pechilvr7/29/2015 6:39:58 PM
after Mr King's opening statements regarding the family's mental health was anyone else surprised to not hear more about it?
by Carolyn Pechilvr7/29/2015 6:40:03 PM
was anyone else expecting to hear more presentation regarding the convicted killers family's mental health?
by Carolyn Pechilvr7/29/2015 6:40:04 PM
Watching the replay - The father says that Fenton didnt say more than just he was dropping out. I thought that Fenton said that she did discuss more with the mother? Or am I not remembering correctly?
by colo7/29/2015 6:40:07 PM
Blues B the dropping of the ball means its not just objections i expected but a vigorous attack of questions. and there wasnt any bc they are relying on the jury to say so what it was so many years ago.
by Carolyn Pechilvr7/29/2015 6:40:10 PM
What is going on right now ? Are they on break? I just logged in for the first time today.
by Tara7/29/2015 6:40:12 PM
Robert Holmes does say "Arlene says love ya" I was wrong earlier.
by Me7/29/2015 6:40:16 PM
Will the Holmes family (Bob & Arlene) move to Colorado?
by Victoria7/29/2015 6:40:19 PM
Did the comments get stop being posted?
by LG7/29/2015 6:40:35 PM
Always appreciate Dan Recht's insights!

"People change....what you were like as a kid is not indicative of how you will turn out as an adult" including suffering the effects of a deteriorating mental state. I watched a friend I'd known since childhood disintegrate in a nervous breakdown across the table from me. Up until the moment they took her away for months of hospitalization and EST no one had a clue there was anything wrong.
by Clancy7/29/2015 6:40:39 PM
Has anyone thought that maybe the parents haven't show a lot of love for the children I haven't heard them say on the voice mails "I love you", or hear any statement about physical contact, hugs, kisses.... and maybe the parents put pressure on the kids to do WAY to well in school and he snapped, he finally got out of the environment, didn't do well in school, was afraid of what his parents reaction would be when they arrived in Denver and.... boom
by SR7/29/2015 6:40:48 PM
I'm having a hard time having sympathy for the father - he seems to have the same monotone personality as his son
by SR7/29/2015 6:40:50 PM
@Kat-- I disagree. Things that have happened to me as a child have influenced me to a degree as how I am as an adult.
by Proph7/29/2015 6:40:52 PM
damn good prosecutor
by Tiki Torch7/29/2015 6:40:52 PM
I don't see PT calling Dr Reid - they don't want any more testimony that JH was mentally ill than has already been suggested
by pcmamanim7/29/2015 6:40:54 PM
Hearing the dad's testimony again - I'm having a hard time with any sympathy for him. It seems that there's NO communication in that house at all, he has no idea that his son called the mom on mother's day?!?! And if your son is having some issues mentally - get on a plane ASAP and go help him, they just seemed to shrug it off......

Sorry about the delay on the comments, going to catch up on those right now. About 10 left in the lunch today
by Phil Tenser7/29/2015 6:41:16 PM
Same thing for me, @Proph
by Clancy7/29/2015 6:44:04 PM
most witnesses from California seem to only talk about the def. as a child/kid... any memories as him as he got older?
by SR7/29/2015 6:44:06 PM
I think Marshall talked about"all that he's been through" but according to this testimony he hasn't "been through" anything as a child. They are showing he had a great childhood and a great family which is in direct opposition to "all that he's been through".
by Tammy Garrison7/29/2015 6:44:09 PM
I noticed Brady never asked RH if he loves his son, if he still loves his son and if he thinks his son loves him. Maybe Brady knows the father doesn't express love to his son. Bet she asks Arlene those questions, tho.
by Della (Me)7/29/2015 6:44:27 PM
If prosecution has no rebuttal, they at least get closing statements too, right?
by Tammy Garrison7/29/2015 6:44:28 PM
@Phil those of us that he have been here for the whole thing realize the drill. no apologies necessary.
by NT87/29/2015 6:44:37 PM
Thanks pc- I was wondering if there was any way PT could use that testimony better than DT could at this point.
by Mr. D. 7/29/2015 6:44:42 PM
Court should be back any moment, we're gearing up to hear from Arlene Holmes
by Phil Tenser7/29/2015 6:44:56 PM
Wondering how anyone can make blanket speculation about the communication quality of 20+ years of family living based on a few hours of strictly controlled testimony?
by Clancy7/29/2015 6:47:09 PM
@SR you need to listen to the voicemails again, Robert says we love you a few times actually
by Me7/29/2015 6:47:18 PM
Della - good point!!
by SR7/29/2015 6:47:19 PM
@Della or maybe it's because that goes without saying. Most parents will always love their children no matter what. They don't have to support something bad that they did but they will always love them.
