No family when put under intense scrutiny will be found perfect. To me Mr. and Mrs. Holmes seem to be Loving parents who did their best to raise their children to be good and decent people. James Holmes is an adult and made his own decisions. His abominable actions are not his parents failing, they are his alone. You can't make someone ask for help if they don't want it and Holmes did all he could not to arouse suspicion as far as I can see.

When JH said he had regrets late at night when he went to bed, he was not asked whether those regrets were for the victims or for himself. I wish Dr Reid had clarified that.

@MisFit...because the DP is already on the table. It's isn't coming off the table. If people want it off the table, this isn't the platform to make that change happen. I see why people are talking about it, but talking about it on here isn't going to create change. If it's something that some are passionate about, I wonder, are they at the Capital legislating for change? It's not so much an issue with talking about it, just what do any think talking about it here will change?

These trials offer victims a false promise, one that can never be honored. Their grief is more likely to be magnified than lessened through this horror show which will go on through many years of appeals. Their burden will not be lifted by this, nor will society's.

No one but the victims themselves know what will or will not bring them peace or a sense of justice. And they are not all the same. We can each have our own opinions about everything, but I do not think it is fair to try to speak for the victims in order to push our own agendas.

@Marsha I'm already on it. I am a proud member an anti death penalty organization. We are 90 million strong and getting stronger. I would not be a very good advocate if i sat in silence and said nothing when a group of people are aggressively seeing to take the life of another human being.
