Theater shooting trial day 61: Start of 'Phase 3'

Day 61 in the Aurora movie theater shooting trial – People vs. James Eagan Holmes. Today, prosecutors will call family members of the 12 victims who were killed.Jurors have already confirmed they found aggravating factors in the mass shooting for which they convicted the gunman. They also confirmed that any mitigating factors that might exist do not outweigh the aggravating factors. This round of testimony is the third and final phase before jurors decide on the death penalty.Holmes was convicted on 165 counts including murder and attempted murder for the shooting that killed 12 and injured 70 others during a midnight premiere of the Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado. Per Mr. D-think of all of these victims- all they had been through- so many come from broken homes, had unfortunate issues, growing up, had to overcome so much, & ultimately were sincerely genuine, determined, loving individuals. 'All remembered as true contributors to our society. Then there's the shooter: the contrast testimony: days long of 'reaching' back to required public service, people who didn't even know him personally but knew his parents in church, etc. It's absolutely inconceivable when I hear what the victims have overcome/"survived", so to speak- & then shooter made it so that they couldn't survive any longer. I get so angry. I hope the jury feels the same. JH came from such privilege, etc. & instead of taking advantage of his blessings, he indulged his narcissism and self pity. He turned to hatred as a "solution" to "increase his self worth". 'Could have joined the service, chased a different dream w/his high IQ, could've used his PhD program contacts...many of these victims had nothing even close to those opportunities. But they strived to make the world better. He killed as many as he could. PLEASE...DO THE RIGHT THING, JURY!
