James Holmes will learn his punishment for 141 other crimes tied to this case in a hearing that begins Monday; these crimes include the charges for explosives planted in his apartment.Victims, families and the gunman will have another chance to address the court, similar to the other sentencing phase. The key difference is that there will be no jury in this hearing and the sentencing decisions will all be made by the judge.
@Prism not attacking you but that ridiculous. Him being human doesn't excuse what he did nor claiming mental illness. that empty logic didn't work with the jury and isn't swaying me in any shape or form. Mental ill? Yes, but he fully knew what he was doing and it being wrong.

@Phil, I apologize for that youtube reference. I was unaware about the improper posting of videos. Thanks for updating with your link. Was just trying to help

Taking a recess now until about 10:22
by Phil Tenser8/25/2015 4:11:09 PM
i'm grateful that EVERYONE WHO WAS IMPACTED gets to have their individual say. And, yes, I would like him to stop swiveling in his chair and stand up and be seen in his new uniform, handcuffs and leg irons.
by SUZANNE R8/25/2015 4:11:55 PM
I think the Defense Team had a very thankless job. I have always appreciated that side of the fence more than the prosecution until this trial. Still they were public defenders who managed to see a miracle of a life sentence for their client over a death penalty. They went against the best Colorado had to offer and I got to give them credit where it is due.
by Cindy L8/25/2015 4:11:55 PM
I watched Mr. Teves again from yesterday. Wow! He nailed Mr. King and Brady to the wall. I cant believe King made a comment referring to Alex' head being blown off to Tom Bradys deflated Football. What an insensitive statement. I lost all respect (minimal at best) for King. What a loser.
by Tired8/25/2015 4:11:59 PM
Thanks guys! I can only watch so much of this...breaks my heart!
by TammyC8/25/2015 4:13:15 PM
There is no excuse for inappropriate comments such as what King has said.
by Cindy L8/25/2015 4:13:45 PM
but you still give him credit nonetheless? pffftt
by Loz8/25/2015 4:14:19 PM
Does anyone have a transcript or video clip of the alleged deflate gate comment?
by CPK8/25/2015 4:14:24 PM
@CPK. . I think the comment was made in or around a bathroom if I remember correctly.
by Sheila8/25/2015 4:15:07 PM
@ SUZANNE R - Hi other Suzanne
by Suzanne8/25/2015 4:15:14 PM
LOz- I had minimal credit for him before the comment---all lost now. Pfft yourself.
by Tired8/25/2015 4:15:27 PM
your Pfft beats my pffft....you used caps
by Loz8/25/2015 4:16:07 PM
@Sheila - that is what I remember too. Very tacky and disrespectful!
by Suzanne8/25/2015 4:16:35 PM
I hope he will apologize but I have a feeling he just wont speak. I feel so bad for the victims. It's so sad :(
by Feedback Guy8/25/2015 4:16:53 PM
@Tired, sorry, I was speaking toward Cindy L, not you
by Loz8/25/2015 4:16:53 PM
@Loz- Np. I had to captialize since it was a start of a sentence. lol.
by Tired8/25/2015 4:17:36 PM
Does anyone know what's going on with the Denver DP trial of Dexter Lewis?
by Nadine8/25/2015 4:18:26 PM
wow, has anyone looked into some if the idiots who are started a fan club? Pathetic examples of humanity there, one group sickenly refers to him as their Holmie
by JG8/25/2015 4:18:29 PM
@tired where is Mr Teves video, I missed it yesterday, where can I find it?
by Diane... Where can I view...8/25/2015 4:19:12 PM
I don't believe in vilifying the Defense Team based upon one comment or two. They represent the defense side and should avoid clouding their representation of their client with their own stupidity. They are symbolic of that portion of our legal system. And I do not care what anyone thinks... I'm not the guilty party so don't lump me in with the gunman's actions nor put down the defense because of their required defense of Holmes.
by Cindy L8/25/2015 4:19:15 PM
@ Diane-- the video is on this site. Its Day 65. About midway through the testimony of 40 victims.
by Tired8/25/2015 4:20:22 PM
I'd like an unbiased source to verify this bathroom incident.
by CPK8/25/2015 4:21:09 PM
Climb off your pompous pedestal, Cindy L. The dt vilifies itself by their behavior.
by JW8/25/2015 4:21:20 PM
FYI: I was and still am for the death penalty for this mass murderer. JW... cut the personal attacks against me for not being PC.
by Cindy L8/25/2015 4:21:52 PM
I want jurors who "have a previous agenda,i.e. won't/can't ever make a decision for death...they need to be held accountable - it is perjury in the eyes of the law - they lied...they should not have been on the jury and it is serious and against the law. Someone just has to prosecute them. JH is a killer and planned it out. It was first degree murder. He was found guilty. I'm outraged that one or two jury members perjured themselves when they were selected. Evidence showed these one or two jury members that he should receive the death penalty. This should skake everyone in that jury box. They know who they are!
by SUZANNE R8/25/2015 4:22:14 PM
@JG I can attest to the fact that most people that sympathize with JH are ones who support mental health treatment for people to prevent such events.
by Justice for Jimmy8/25/2015 4:23:11 PM
How long is the recess for?
by Feedback Guy8/25/2015 4:23:39 PM
waist shackles...nice new jewlery for JH.
by Tired8/25/2015 4:25:21 PM
I agree with the need for more mental health in this country as it is a huge problem, but I cannot fathom how people can sympathize with that soulless piece of crap when he was offered FREE mental health care and made the conscious decision to turn it down
by JG8/25/2015 4:25:30 PM
maybe he turned down free mental health care because he's MENTALLY ILL
by CPK8/25/2015 4:26:01 PM
FYI: I also believe that the defendant is a cold blooded murderer. I agree with SUZANNE R for the most part. But a death penalty qualified jury should not mean it is automatic for the DP. However, I do believe that the 3 juror's should have rendered a DP to him as some of the victims and/or their families have spoken about.
by Cindy L8/25/2015 4:26:14 PM
@Suzanne R - I totally agree. This should be a mistrial, IMO.
by Nadine8/25/2015 4:26:38 PM
I can attest to the fact that most people that sympathize with JH at any level have never experienced the kind of tragic loss he is directly responsible for creating.
by Mark8/25/2015 4:26:55 PM
In my opinion I don't think JH has any type of mental illness. I think it was all fake to get out of what he did. He is a smart guy he knows how to "work the system".
I would also like to say that I am TOTALLY expecting that JH will try and say he is "suffering" from PTSD. Which I personally don't think he has any right to have.
by Viking8/25/2015 4:27:13 PM
@CPK HIGHLY doubt it
by JG8/25/2015 4:27:18 PM
Is that a flower in her hair?
by Danielle8/25/2015 4:28:50 PM
@JG...there are fan clubs for JH...are you kidding me??? What kind of sick people would be in a fan club? What is wrong with this world!!
by TammyC8/25/2015 4:29:26 PM
@Mark You don't know me so you can't make that assumption. I had friends at Columbine and still feel that better mental health treatment would of prevented that horrible tragic event too.
by Justice for James8/25/2015 4:29:27 PM
I agree JG
by Justice for James8/25/2015 4:30:20 PM
where is anyone's proof that this juror perjured herself? Because YOU think he should have gotten the death penalty?
by CPK8/25/2015 4:30:24 PM
@Justice for James, does your avatar mean what I think it means?
