APD Officer Welton was notified about the shooting by Sgt. Matt Fyles at about 1 a.m. and arrived at about 1:45 a.m.
APD Ofc. Welton on the scene outside the theater: "It was pretty chaotic... When I first arrived I couldn't even make it to the theater. "
APD Ofc. Welton: "I believe everybody from our unit was called in." Estimates at least 12 detectives in the unit.
@Debbie: His attorney said he is heavily medicated.
APD Ofc. Welton took gunman's wallet from Sgt. Fyles, put it in an evidence envelope and eventually took it back to the station.
APD Ofc. Welton says there was a student ID and a blank check made out to James Holmes in the wallet.
APD Ofc. Welton wallet also contained a VISA card and a USAA Mastercard issued to James Holmes.
@NT8: The credit cards were also used to set up memberships on dating sites.
Jurors are being shown pictures of the contents of the wallet.

Prosecution Aurora Police Department Detective Chuck Mehl, with the major crimes/homicide unit. Has been with APD for 24 years.
APD Det. Mehl: "I was at home asleep and at 1:38 in the morning I received a call." At that point he was told there were 5 deceased victims.
APD Det. Mehl said he was told the suspect was in custody and that he and Det. Craig Appel would be interviewing him.
