James Holmes will learn his punishment for 141 other crimes tied to this case in a hearing that begins Monday; these crimes include the charges for explosives planted in his apartment.Victims, families and the gunman will have another chance to address the court, similar to the other sentencing phase. The key difference is that there will be no jury in this hearing and the sentencing decisions will all be made by the judge.
Okay; here's a great question....If Holmes is mentally ill because of his genetic code, which one of his family members killed people before he did? Ooops that doesn't add up, now does it? Anyone think that schizophrenia is the cause for killing?
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:08:26 PM
Feedback Guy; anyone who suffers from a tick would be so insulted by Holmes
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:10:24 PM
@Eleanora--The following is excerpted from an Associated Press article published August 7, 2015:
"Families of the victims began to leave the courtroom as Judge Carlos Samour continued reading the verdict. Their wails were audible through the closed courtroom doors. As in previous proceedings, Holmes, who is on anti-psychotic medication that dulls his responses, showed no reaction."
by flip8/25/2015 7:11:01 PM
flip; which anti-psychotic med? don't know? then that is hearsay
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:12:58 PM
Fully agree, Ibby--there is just no conceivable reason to keep a monster like Holmes alive.
by flip8/25/2015 7:13:33 PM
Okay, class. Time to fold up the tin foil hats and put them on your heads.....now, run...as fast as you can right into the wall!!!
by Ibby8/25/2015 7:14:01 PM
Ibby, what did holmes lie about----first time I've heard he lied Eleanora, I don't think it works that way---killers begetting killers----tendencies toward behaviors perhaps, but we live in a horriblly violent world to which we are exposed, not so 120 years ago, and who knows, records deleted, isolated back then.

Lied to Fenton
by Ibby8/25/2015 7:14:28 PM
I'm just catching up on everything prior to the lunch break. Did the last statement say that JH grabbed someone and shot him point blank? I don't remember hearing about that detail before.
by Amy8/25/2015 7:14:37 PM
ibby, get yourself clear----what did he lie about?
by prism8/25/2015 7:15:05 PM
The exact anti-psychotic drug that he is on, at "low dose", came out in Dr. Reid's testimony. I believe it is haloperidol.
by flip8/25/2015 7:16:09 PM
@Amy- I heard that also for the first time today. Anyone have any other knowledge about that?
by Victoria8/25/2015 7:17:02 PM
Ibby he didn't lie about anything. Your rage has blinded you to anything but your love of gun power supposedly for the love of justice
by prism8/25/2015 7:17:34 PM
The medication is Risperidone
by FPsych8/25/2015 7:18:27 PM
2nd amendment is COOL!!!!
by Ibby8/25/2015 7:19:27 PM
I never said that Holmes lied...he told the truth, that he "hated everyone" that he acted alone; that he had booby trapped his apartment. His book was honest about what were the symptoms to what he wanted to claim for himself; that he didn't take the drugs because he wanted to remain in control of himself; that philosophy has us decide if one life is more valuable than many, and social science has college students study about the inequity of people
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:19:32 PM
This guy totally deserved the DP
by Joey8/25/2015 7:20:24 PM
risperidone ---Side Effects Drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, drooling, nausea, weight gain, or tiredness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:22:31 PM
prism--It is very clear that Holmes lied to the CU psychiatrists when claimed that he had no target in mind, or any definite plan in mind, to kill people. Both Fenton and Feinstein questioned him about that more than once--but Holmes certainly realized that he had to lie about his actual target and his plan in order to keep from being locked up. Clever boy--he used those early psych visits to set up his insanity defense. When the detectives interviewed him jus a couple hours after the shooting, they asked a perfunctory question while filling out standard paperwork: "Who is your emergency contact?" Holmes immediate answer: "My two psychiatrists [at CU]".

Just to let everyone know I had signed in with the nameDkf and whoever is posting stuff with that it is not me I am on my way to work. If anyone was offended by whoever posted under my name I am sorry. I really don't understand why anyone do that to another person on here. Been in this chat from the beginning of this trial never seen it this bad in here. Also sent an email to Phil to let him know what is going on in here.
by Debbie8/25/2015 7:24:16 PM
Anyone know when the lawsuit against CU is supposed to go underway? Guessing that's not something that will be televised.
by Sheila8/25/2015 7:24:40 PM
@FPsych--you are right. I think they tried haloperidol briefly, then switched him over to risperidone. Too bad they didn't switch him on to rat poison....
by flip8/25/2015 7:24:52 PM
@debbie. Phil said at the beginning they weren't running two chatrooms (the other was on youtube). I know they had a few issues on there. I think they might have come from there to here
by Aly8/25/2015 7:27:50 PM
ibby right at the u. of co social scientists said they proved your point by taking Negro and A. Indians skulls, foreshortening the cranium in pics, and said it proved they were not equal in intelligence or had the moral capacity of whites. Get a grip on your own education. All you have to do is question why laws like the DP still exists in CO. Hardly a pool of progressive minds.
by prism8/25/2015 7:27:51 PM
is it worth turning comments on, or are the childish trolls and ignorant murderer supporters still here
by JG8/25/2015 7:28:51 PM
If the side affects of the meds aren't showing up then the medication isn't the right one; or that isn't the med which is administered
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:28:53 PM
@shelia it can't start until this one is over because of the implications. for some reason i think they set it for next september, but it could be this september.
by prison for jimmy8/25/2015 7:29:26 PM
effect ...instead of affect
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:29:39 PM
ibby doesn't represent anyone but themselves. Therefore his sick promotion of the 2nd Amendment in a perverse way is not reflective of those who bear arms. Had someone been in that theatre other than the gunman had a concealed or open carry of a weapon then we'd have had less carnage.
by Cindy L8/25/2015 7:30:16 PM
i think that since the dp process is over and the media ban is lifted, d7 doesn't care about the chat anymore. pretty sure it's on auto approve. it takes about 2 seconds for comments to show up after being posted.
by prison for jimmy8/25/2015 7:30:54 PM
and doesn't say it's in moderation.
by prison for jimmy8/25/2015 7:31:06 PM
JG not murder supporters I haven't heard one single word about anyone supporting murderers, there are people who do not want to murder hidden under the sanction of an outdated law. I would think you don't mind being called a murderer, if I understand you correctly. Just don't turn things upside down
by prism8/25/2015 7:32:14 PM
I'm not sure why some people are so fearful of anyone expressing honest feelings of hatred for a hideous criminal like James Holmes. If expressing love and forgiveness for Holmes makes you feel more peaceful, or morally superior....enjoy it. But don't presume to impose your moral code on people who think Holmes is worthless filth that does not deserve a continued existence in society, Let's just agree to differ...
by flip8/25/2015 7:33:31 PM
Out of curiosity, is anyone else in this chat from Colorado? Just curious how many are out of state
by Sarah8/25/2015 7:35:15 PM
eleanora, the lying statement was blurred as text ran together. The statement was directed at Ibby who said all JH did was lie to Dr. Fenton Sorry for the confusion, I appreciate your insight
by prism8/25/2015 7:35:29 PM
Okay, Holmes did admit to taking a valium before shooting
by Eleanora Bradford8/25/2015 7:36:21 PM
and hydrocodone in case he was shot.

No, Holmes took a Vicodin before the shooting. He did that so that he would not experience pain, anticipating that he might be shot during his rampage,
by flip8/25/2015 7:38:10 PM
prison for jimmy ..yes that too...those two together woow yea haw what a rush for him
